Dance equals movement, movement generates shapes, shapes may influence the jewellery I create. For my third year dissertation i may research some influencial contemporary choreographers, such as Martha Graham, Pina Bausch, and Twyla Tharp. I would like to find out what was inspirational to them when they were creating, and perhaps from there connect it to how i will be designing my jewellery.

Graham used a technique called tension and relaxation or contraction and release.  Some of her first dances were abstract and angular, almost cubist. she was inspired by classical mythology, biblical stories, and poems by Emily Dickenson, to name a few. this particular photo is of her piece called Lamentation.
